Villa D'Este - A Beautiful Water garden in Tivoli, Italy

Villa D'Este. It is a hidden treasure in Italy. Villa D'Este is a villa and garden located in Tivoli, Italy.
It was built in the 1500's by the governor of Italy at the time. He was made governor by the Pope, which meant he could not leave his town. So he was basically banished to the town. So he got creative and built a beautiful hanging garden (meaning steep) with water features that were powered by water, not electricity or other means.

A fountain in the courtyard of the villa. Shows where the
water came from that flowed through the property.

The water nymph, and water flowed over her belly, which
meant prosperity. The eagles represent the governor's crest

This was a monastery before. The owner turned it into a villa
by adding the stairs and facade. The building had a flat front
when it was a monastery.
